![]() ![]() The resort consists of 10 lakefront cabins, a guest suite, and a private 9-site campground. We are the only resort and resident on the lake, which bodies over 8 miles of shoreline. Golden Eagle Lodge sits on the quiet shores of Flour Lake. They are looking forward to being the next generation of Baumanns’ at Golden Eagle Lodge! Our Facility On January 1, 2020, Zach and Ruth purchased Golden Eagle Lodge from Dan and Teresa. In 2017, Zach married longtime friend, Ruth. They currently operate the resort with the help of family and staff. In 1994, Dan and Teresa purchased the lodge from Dan’s parents. Over the next 4 years, they had 3 children: Zach, Brianna, and Jonathan. Dan and Teresa met in 1987 and married in the following year. This model was taken to heart and Golden Eagle Lodge became a family resort in the early 1950’s, which it is still to this day.īy 1982, the resort had grown from offering only four seasonal cabins to the now present ten cabins, all of which are operational for year round use. This concept didn’t last long, however, as the Gunflint Trail was explored by families of men, women, and children. Golden Eagle Lodge was originally a “men’s only” resort dating back to its construction in about 1945. The decision to purchase Golden Eagle Lodge was eventually made in 1976 by Dan’s parents, John and Irene Baumann, and immediately, the remodeling and rebuilding work began. ![]() Being that the campground is only a mile down the lake, we were familiar with the resort’s existence. Our love for the Gunflint Trail began back in the late 1960’s when Dan’s family would come up to the area every summer, for a month, and camp in the Flour Lake Federal Campground. Golden Eagle Lodge is owned and operated by the Baumann family. ![]()
